No, as each verse can be interpreted based upon its own context and such OT texts do not alter John’s use of ego eimi. This dependency is all guesswork anyway of course as most texts of the day were Acrostics and few if any texts in any form were available outside of the Temple or Synagogue. We may know what such texts say today but we do not know if John actually saw one do we? You of course are aware of the arguments that such an LXX version did not even exist until the third century or even later? One can simply Google this up and see for themselves. The point I have made is that John did not allude to the Supreme Being anywhere in his work by using the expression “I am.” All one has to do is punch in “I am” in their Online Bible search engines and see how John really used this common term throughout his work. It is a simple as that.

I can not imagine a sillier argument for the trinity then this "I am" Debate. no one in their right mind would see that phrase in any other book and think the person saying it was calling himself God.... yet many trinitarians have Parrotted this from some preacher they have herd blindly repeating it as if it really was meaningful. 1. in Greek Jehovah does not say Ego Ami, but Ego Ami Ho On.... or I am THE ETERNAL [one]. and no jew has ever confused Jehovah to mean simply ego ami.

seems like my typical expectations have been met

the honest presents the evidence and lets you bring your own mechanic and lets you kick the tires

while the con artist brings up all sorts of emotional issues about how wonderful it will be to drive the car

once you own it, how sad it is that you will be missing out and walking in the eternal blistering heat while you could have been

cruzing with the AC fulll blast.... and all you ask is the reasonable request to see the car...

it is a FACT that people experience what SEEM like supernatural entities.... it is FACT that these experiences SEEM just as real as any others, however it is not a FACT that such beings and expeirences are more than mental inventions or have any basis in any actual reality which may exist....

experiences ARE facts, but beliefs about them are NOT. one need not be a skeptic to realize that everything known to anyone is the product of their own mind interpreting the data of reality filtered through their sensory apperatice.... there is not a single person on earth who can know reality directly as there is always a layer of interpretation...

the world you know is a dream. it may be accurate to reality, it may not be... but it is the product of your own minds attempt to decode data which you dont really have way to know where it came from.

you see the rushing waters of experience, never the streambed of reality beneath it.... and even when you catch glimpses of that stream bed through the clear waters, you are never absolutely sure of what you are seeing.

it is the FALSE certainty that is so easily adopted by so many which makes them fall prey to JWs and others who force their IF this THEN that black and white binary mentality upon the unwary.

How was Jesus perfect?

assuming for the moment that Jesus was a real person

the bible indicates that as long as he did not violate THE LAW, the HS would guard him from harm and infection.

if Adam was perfect, the bible indicates that he was not by nature immortal but needed externals to live eternally[ see tree of life]

which indicates to me that Jesus' human body would likewise need the HS to be more than basic asside from his lack of genetic trash accumulated by other humans through history of viral invasions

now for all the scientists out there this is not a question of proof or anything along those lines.

for my part i choose to believe in a god because i honestly believe there is one (though i did start doubting for a little while) i've always felt that there was more to our existance on earth - and that doesn't stem from me wanting to live forever or as a spirit, as i don't even know if that will happen.

i also believe in him because many many times when i could not carry on, on my own strength, i managed to pulled through.

I beileve in an ultiamte reality which I call the Generator of Dreams [perhaps nightmares]

which of course did not create itself, or my ultimate self.... my eternal nature was no one's making, no ones plan

no one's purpose and thus under no one's control... it just is what it happens to be, and it may just be that I am God suffering

dementia, paranoia, multiple personality disorder and altzheimers.... dreaming taht i am 6billion plus humans and several times that in other sorts of moving animals, but its not my fault.... I yam what I yam and what I am becoming...and I dont believe freewill is more than another myth created by own overall adled mind.... which seems to be filled with such things... again for no other reason than that is how it must work

when I first left JWs and started studying psychology, I notced a lot of mind games being placed in the bible as originating from God.

it made me think that honest beings do not play head games with people, they give them all the facts and let them decide to join or not, buy or not etc. Con artists on the other hand must set up their marks to believe in something unreal and unprovable to get them to buy sight un seen and give the con artists time to escape with their illl gotten gain.

so, I had to ask myself would a real honest, loving father resemble a con artist or an honest dealer?

the bible God and all that is associated with it seem way to close to a con artist to me.

and what better symbol of con artistry is there besides the loving shepherd.... his sheep can feel the love and caring right up until they are fleeced and slaughtered... the shepherd is really a predator who cares for his sheep for his own benefit and not that of the sheep. TO SERVE MAN -twilight zone comes to mind

I dont believe there is any part of ultimate reality which can sanely call itself god apart from the rest of us.

I do believe it is possible that some technologically godlike beings have been and many still be messing with our heads

but they are not really god[s].

I like nudist resorts but I cant afford them so I am rarely an actual nudist.
